Key Responsibilities:

Xero Proficiency: The ideal candidate should be highly proficient in using Xero software for Australian accounting, including managing financial records, reconciliation, and generating financial reports.
Spreadsheets: The primary task for this role involves working extensively with spreadsheets to maintain financial records, analyze data, and prepare financial statements.
Australian Accounting Expertise: The candidate should possess a strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements. This includes keeping abreast of changes in accounting laws and regulations in Australia.
Income Tax and GST: The Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely filing of income tax returns and GST returns, including identifying tax-saving opportunities and ensuring compliance with Australian tax laws.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and provide insights into financial performance to aid in decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the creation and management of financial budgets, as well as forecasting future financial needs.
.● Audit Support: Collaborate with auditors and provide necessary documentation and explanations during financial audits.
.● Compliance: Ensure the company complies with all relevant financial and accounting regulations, including Australian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for financial improvement.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the finance team and departments across the organization to ensure financial objectives are met.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CA) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using Xero accounting software.
  • Demonstrated experience working with spreadsheets.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Australian accounting, including income tax and GST.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
